The concert will begin at 7:30 PM. The doors will open to the public at 7:15. Students are to arrive prior to 6:30 for vocal warm-ups and pre-concert procedures. When students arrive, they will need to sign-in and pick up their name tags. Choir students will sit in the concert to observe and learn from their fellow performers. The students' performance grade is divided into two parts: Musical Performance and Concert Etiquette. Both parts are worth 50 points and total to 100. Please assist me in instructing the students regarding proper concert etiquette. Please see the following expectations for student concert etiquette:
Arrive punctually.
Dress in proper concert attire. Please keep personal jewelry to a minimum and small in size. Please do not wear perfume or cologne, some people are allergic. Please DO wear deodorant. Hair should be out of your face. Shoes should be appropriate for concert and black.
Please refrain from talking or making noise during the performance.
Please turn off and/ or disable any and all electronic devices. Even the silent mode can be a distraction because of blinking red lights and screen lights.
Please remain seated during the performance. Students will have an opportunity to use the restroom prior to the concert beginning.
Listen and observe choral performances attentively.
Additional General Concert Etiquette tips:
Should patrons need to step out during the performance, please wait until an applause break to reenter the hall.
Please refrain from taking flash photography during the performance. This becomes quite distracting to the performers. Wait until an applause break to use your flash.
Small children are welcome to come and enjoy the performances. In the event that you child becomes disinterested in the performance, please step out into the lobby with your child until he/ she becomes interested in the performance again. |
