Performing Ensembles

Concert Choir

Entry-level mixed choral ensemble in which students continue to improve their singing and musicianship skills. Students will perform at school concerts and competitions. Students will learn skills that assist in all aspects of the performing arts, including musicals. Classes focus on energizing the students to accomplish the musical performance. This is a non-auditioned group and is open to all students grades 9-12. A course materials fee is required.

Bel Canto

Advanced-level women’s choir. The ensemble studies and performs challenging music in all styles and languages. Students will advance in sight-singing, vocal production, and musicianship. Students will perform at school concerts and competitions. Membership in the group is by audition only. Students must have advanced singing and music-reading skills in order to be in bel Canto. A course materials fee is required.

Chamber Singers

Artist-level mixed choir. This is the touring choir at Westfield High School. Students will perform at school concerts, community events, musical shows, prestigious ceremonies, and competitions. The ensemble studies and performs challenging music in all styles and languages. Students must have advanced singing and music-reading skills in order to be in Chamber Singers. Membership in the group is by audition only. A course materials fee is required.

Troubadours

Advanced-level men’s choir. The ensemble studies and performs challenging music in all styles and languages. Membership in the group is by audition only. Students must have advanced singing and music-reading skills in order to be in Troubadours. Students are required to be present at extra-curricular performances and concerts.

Specialized Singing Ensembles

Show Choir

Show Choir is a performing singing group designed to incorporate all aspects of stage singing. Songs are selected from Broadway musicals, jazz, popular music, and cabarets. Students will perform choreographed dancing during the singing performances. This is an after school, for-credit singing group. An audition is required. A course materials fee is required.

Gold Tones

The Gold Tones is an a capella singing group designed to perform popular (rock, R&B, jazz, etc.) music using only voices. This is an after school, extra-curricular singing group. The focus is on fun, musicianship, and performance. An audition is required.
